The Foundations Development Program at Sabancı University offers a distinctive approach to undergraduate education, inspired by the core curriculum and liberal arts traditions in higher education. As the first university in Turkey to implement such a common course design, Sabancı University ensures that all students, regardless of their future specialization, complete these foundational courses.

Known as the University Courses, this core curriculum forms about one-third of a student's total credit load and spans the entire undergraduate experience. While most courses are completed in the freshman year, some extend into the sophomore, junior, and senior years. This program is designed to develop curious, competent, and universalist individuals who are lifelong learners, high achievers, and adaptive professionals. The Foundations Development Directorate coordinates these courses, collaborating with faculties and the School of Languages to achieve the university's educational goals.

With the Freedom to Choose Diploma Programs, you don't have to specialize in just one program. No matter which faculty you enrolled the university from, you will be uniquely prepared for the future.
