HUM 201 LEARNING ASSISTANT

 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - FALL 2026

For Fall 2026 semester HUM 201: Major Works of Literature team is looking for a Learning Assistant in order to facilitate and support the peer learning environment. 

What is a HUM Learning Assistant?

A Learning Assistant is assigned to 200-coded MW courses to support TAs in discussion session related tasks to the course.  In this position, the LAs will gain experience in modern teaching techniques, which they will be able to use throughout their education and careers. They will be paid (currently) 17,500 TL/semester to work 10 hours per week in various aspects of the course together with insturctors and graduate Teaching Assistants. 

LA Responsibilities 

HUM courses, discussion sessions, and meetings will be held in person on campus.

LAs are expected to:

  1. Attend all lecture hours of the course,
  2. Attend one discussion hour each week
  3. Attend weekly course meetings
  4. Help TAs for preparing discussion section materials (online or written)
  5. Help TAs for preparing experiential learning activities made during discussion sessions and assignments
  6. Attend Q &A sessions twice a week based on the content of the discussion

Who can Apply?

Any undergraduate student (regardless of their majors) who have passed Hum 201 and one of the 300-Coded Hum courses with a letter grade A or A-. The applicants must have good communication skills in English, and be interested in learning new teaching techniques.
