Küçükköy Creative Technologies Workshop
In collaboration with Sabancı University’s Foundations Development Directorate and the Institutional Partnerships and Alumni Relations Unit, we planted the first seeds of our educational series program, aimed at becoming a tradition, with the participation of students from Ayvalık and their esteemed teachers at the Küçükköy Creative Technologies Workshop in Ayvalık.
Within this program's scope, we reached 350 middle and high school students and 25 teachers who educate these students through online and in-person training sessions conducted last year.
In the trainings conducted by Sabancı University academicians using active learning methods, we examined topics such as global warming, gene editing, and algorithms with the students through an interdisciplinary approach. We discussed the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of these global issues, which are already starting to impact our lives, with examples provided on both local and global scales.
Our trainings continue in light of the positive feedback and suggestions from teachers and students following the sessions.
